I think it's a lovely book and it's really good to see more interesting and different glove patterns, rather than just mittens, which no one I'm related to will touch with a barge pole. I usually shy away from mittens because my hands are cold no matter <I>what</I> I do, but it occurred to me while reading your post that perhaps handmade mittens/gloves would solve the problem in the same way that handmade socks did.
