We saw this
when we woke up this morning. After a day of steady rain - and a week full of "nor'easter" hysteria -- we thought we were golden. Sunday night, the rain turned to icy snow and the wind picked up. Big time.
I guess I'll be dyeing lots of yarn in the coming days. Tree guys are expensive.
Carol, sorry about your tree-trees are part of the family. call bartlett tree-they are usually good....btw i'm hooked on your book reviews.....cathy
ReplyDeleteOoof.
ReplyDeleteOur power just came back on after 6 hours. Oh, the boredom!
Wow, and we just got rain here. Of course the flagpole at work snapped in two in the wind, but it was only wet with rain when it happened.
ReplyDeleteWe're to the north of you--just rain. To the north of us, snow.
ReplyDeleteFor once, we did something right!
Yup, snow here too! most unpleasant...
ReplyDeleteWhat??? Someone would CHARGE you to take away wood! Tell em to burn it for warmth =) No, really, I'm sorry if you're upset about your tree. Hopefully when the leaves come in, it will look fine. Just be glad you weren't out getting the mail or something, eh?
ReplyDeleteI was laying in bed Sunday night at my sister's (not too far from you, I'm assuming. Main Line.) The wind was keeping me awake. When I finally fell asleep, I was up again at a VERY loud crack and crash.
ReplyDeleteI waited for everyone to come running and no one did, so I assumed that I was dreaming.
The next morning, the tree limbs in the backyard and the whole in her garage roof told a different story.
I'm glad the storm didn't do more damage - to either home. Scary stuff. April showers my ass.
Thanks for your comment the other day as well. I think, for the most part, we're in complete agreement about criticism on blogs.
