Go to the "Patterns" forum and help the desperate, canine-loving knitter who is searching for a pattern for a "dog poop bag":
some time ago I saw a pattern that was for a larger bag. I believe it had a square stiffened base with a scented dryer sheet in it to mask “offensive odours”!! It’s not just for holding plastic bags but for carrying home the - er - doings of one’s dog. I thought this would make a good quick easy gift for a couple of friends with dogs.
Here might be a good time to use that yarn with the antibacterial properties they were advertising a few years ago...
(thanks, Selma!)
A quick easy gift of a dog poop bag? And we knitters wonder why people who don't knit don't appreciate the work that goes into each object.
ReplyDeleteThat reminded me of a card someone once sent me.
ReplyDeleteIt's an antique-looking photo of a small child smothered in knitted goods.
The caption is "If only Mother could stop knitting".
OMFG, and I thought the tombstone covers were bad enough...now THIS!
ReplyDeletemakes me glad I never joined ravelry...
There are over 200,000 Ravelry users. Some of them are trolls. There's also a lot of good on Ravelry. (Sorry if this is terse, but Google doesn't want to post comments for some reason; this is my third try.)
ReplyDeleteI could _almost_ see the idea of a bag that covers up a ziploc for the dog doo... but this sounds like they want to put the poop straight into the bag?
ReplyDeleteIn any case, knitting is NOT the first thing that comes to mind when I think about ideal textiles for dealing with poop.
You know that saying about giving someone a hammer and suddenly the whole world looks like a nail?
Uhh. Umm. Hmm. Nope. There's just really nothing to be said.
ReplyDeleteIf you made it out the the especially flammable frou-frou yarn you still light it and set in on somebody's doorstep!
ReplyDeleteI love Ravelry and I especially love Carol for posting the Ravelry posts I don't want to read!
ReplyDeleteZoe the Borderline Collie does not wish for a knitted dog poop bag. She thinks used bread bags, or a handful of leaves, are fine. However, she did bring a dead vole into the house and left it on the bed today.
obscure
huh... really, no shit?
ReplyDelete:-) amusing myself here...
I guess I don't quite understand why one would need this. If they are particularly concerned about environmental factors, they can buy biodegradeable poop bags.
ReplyDeleteThough I guess there isn't a lot of variety in the styles ...
Eeww. That's just wrong on so many levels. That poor dog is so going to be made fun of at the doggy park.
