Requiescat in pacem John Walter Sulcoski July 1, 1934 - Dec. 23, 2009

This is one of my favorite photos of my dad, taken when he was young, and having fun, and when the infinite possibilities of life were stretched out before him.

I'm going to be offline for a while, so play nice while I'm gone.

I lost my dad on Christmas Eve too, quite a few years ago now. I'm so sorry you've lost yours too, and at this time of year that is usually so full of joy. Sending you hugs of understanding, and wishes for peace and family love to comfort you.

My mother passed days after receiving a diagnosis of acute myeloblastic leukemia; in fact, within hours she was in that semi-coma. She had thought she was merely taking a long time to get over flu.

It was a shock, but looking back, I see that she was spared weeks & months of terror. I'm grateful for that.

Your father was also spared the long stretch of terror.

The pain of loss is hard, I know. I hope these next months of adapting go quickly for you.
