Meanwhile

Ah, the end of the school year, chock-full of end-of-the-school-year festivities. Sunday evening was Elvis' piano recital:

He played beautifully, and based on his unruffled demeanor, I think I was more nervous than he was.

The week before that was his presentation on being a veterinarian:

Meanwhile, his brother continues playing T-ball:

For those who you who got a kick out of N's teammate Daniel: This weekend, when told by the coaches that he couldn't say "Bad game, bad game, bad game" to the opposing team, he informed them solemnly that he was going to kiss each member of the opposing team instead of high-fiving them. You can imagine how well that went over.

(Fans of G., don't worry; Little Miss has her ballet recital next month, so you will get to see photos of that, no doubt.)

In other news, the lilacs bloomed

I knit a boatload of pre-emie caps:

Charcoal got glasses (no, not really; he just needs to wear them for reading):

a sweet friend knit me a beautiful pair of socks

and we got our first customer review on Amazon.com! And it wasn't even someone related to us!

Later this week: a No-Bull Book Review. . .

Mmmm, white lilacs are my favorite- sniff them lots for me!

Lovely socks and great pictures- Puff says the glasses are a good look for Charcoal.

So I guess that kid really livens up the T-ball games. The kisses would have been a sight.

How cute Elvis looks all dressed up as a vet. Reminds me of my son, who is now in his last yaer of vet school!! He just got his official"White Coat" http://cantstopknitting-lae.blogspot.com/2008/04/what-makes-you-happy.html
He used to play the piano too. Enjoy them now, they grow up way too fast.

Rock on Daniel! I love the stories about that kid.

Elvis has tremendous posture at the piano!

Gorgeous socks! What's the yarn and pattern??

Daniel is a boy after my own heart. I wonder if he will give me money if my heart gets me fired ...

Holy moley (is that how you spell moley?)...the Amazon review is spot on. If anyone doesn't have Carol's book, but wants a sense of what it's like...the review is exactly as I would have described the book.

Carol also makes being a child-hater very difficult for me.

I love the kid in the "good game" lineup.
Our boys learned how to swear in the local Native dialect. Then they would say this one phrase in the lineup (impossible to type out in English characters) The refs asked what it was, and they said it was a "blessing". What it actually meant was "you are the sweat that makes my dick stick to the side of my leg".
