Fascinating interview

of Stephen Sheard, founder of Rowan Yarn, here. (Thanks to L. for the heads-up.) I'll be blogging more next week, just as soon as the kids are back in school. Right now, I'm listening to wails of "Mom - he looked at me!" and "Did not!" and other assorted annoying, bicker-ish remarks, and I'm about to put my hands over my ears and sing "La-la-la-I-can't-HEAR-you" for a little while.

How funny that he called 1986-1996 as the knitting doldrums. I learned to knit in 1988. Maybe that's why I could only find yarn in Liberty's. THAT started a bad habit...

Have they started drawing lines they're not supposed to cross yet? If I were you, I'd hide in your room with plenty of chocolate...

Thanks for this link, Carol. 'Cause I've been in retail for eons as well as being a weaver & knitter, I really enjoyed the depth of this interview.

Great interview - thanks!

And the reason the kids do this now is so you don't miss them quite so much next week... it's like, their job or something - yours just sound like they're really good at it...

The peace of an empty house on a school day is a blessed thing indeed! Hang on a few more days.

Tee hee, I just wrote a blog post about this problem. I am not sure how we are going to make it through one more week of this. Correction: should say how *I* am going to make it through one more week because it doesn't really seem to be bothering them at all.

I am SOOOO glad school starts Sept. 8! Even though I'm only blessed with one child, she has her moments ...

Well, if the other L is not "the L" (and of course she IS), who the L is the L?
