What I've been up to....

while I haven't been blogging this week:
  • a lovely visit with Wendyknits, who came to sign her gorgeous new book.

I got to see pals like Lisa and Jenny

and of course, Craig (who eagerly accepted another batch of BBF yarn to sell):

  • we met the Easter bunny:

after going on a hayride to Bunnyland;

  • got a copy of Knit Simple magazine, where my vest (delayed a bit due to my family situation over the holidays) is beautifully worn by editor Carla Scott;
  • entertained the kids all week (well, at least part of the time) while they were on spring break;
  • and went up to visit my mom:
where we were photobombed by Little Miss:

Now we're settling in for a happy Easter weekend, with my mom visiting for the first time since before Christmas. Happy Easter to all who celebrate it, and I'll be back next week with a blog tour stop for a brand-new knitting book, as well as more fun stuff.

Happy anniversary to Ewe (and I)!

Yesterday was my booksigning at Ewe and I, a lovely (and huge!) knitting shop which one year ago came under new ownership and moved from Bryn Mawr to Narberth. If you've never been to Narberth, it is a suburb on the Main Line that has managed to retain a very un-snobby (especially for the Main Line) small town feel. It has an old-fashioned main street

with the greatest hardware store (not a chain, thank you!) and an amazing cheese shop and now it even has a fabric shop and, of course, a fabulous knitting shop. Everything is walkable in Narberth and it's a very friendly place. (I used to live there in my single days...)

Ewe and I was celebrating its first anniversary at its Narberth location. Before that, the shop was located in Bryn Mawr, but now it's bigger and better and has lots more gorgeous yarn, stuff like Rowan, and Blue Sky Alpacas and Cascade and Berroco and Noro and more. . .

We had a wonderful time, and I got to see Anmiryam (oh God, I hope I spelled your name right finally) who is modeling a very nice Noro sweater she made:

My friend Joann came and I got to meet Helen and Ilana (this is Ilana -- she's a riot, you'd love her)

and there was chocolate cake. I will definitely be returning soon to Ewe and I (even if the cake is all gone).

(This is me and Diana, the nice owner lady.)

Hear me, see me, meet me

I've been slacking off lately, eh?

Well, since last I blogged, I had the pleasure of podcasting with Kathy Elkins, the WEBS lady, who I dearly, dearly love (as well as her foxy husband Steve) and the show will go out Saturday morning; you can download it for free from I-Tunes, too.

I am pleased to report that I will be in Chicago next weekend (yes, I know it's TNNA in San Diego, but I'm skipping this TNNA so I can afford to go to the June one) celebrating the Inauguration a bit prematurely with my darling Franklin and also the Knitters for Obama group from Ravelry. If you live in the Chicago area, please come and meet me and get your books signed at Loopy Yarns:

  • Friday, January 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 7th, from 1 to 3 p.m.
And the week after that, I'll be signing books at Loop in Philadelphia, on Sunday, January 25th, from 1 to 4 p.m. I'm hoping Jody Pirrello will be there, too, since she designed the kick-ass Chevvy socks that are on the cover of KSWHY.

I promise I'll post some real posts soon...

Meet me tomorrow at WEBS!

I am so excited. Tomorrow, Elvis and I are leaving at the crack of dawn to drive to WEBS. I've never been, and I suspect this is one of those milestones in a knitter's life, like your first Stitches or Rhinebeck or something. I am going to be signing copies of Knit So Fine at 3 p.m., so if you are close enough to come, please stop by and say hi!
