Dyeing

Here's some of the superwash merino sock yarn that's going up on my Etsy site later this evening.

And for Sherry, here is a photo of my parents' covered wagon sofa

which inspired the batch of wool/nylon sock yarn she snagged yesterday at Rosie's (this is a bad photo but I only took a quick one since it was going into Rosie's):

A quick peek into the tortured way my brain finds inspiration.

Lovey, I love the Wagon Wheel Sofa name am not at all surprised that others would too.
At gloriouscolor.com we had a French repro fabric that I named "Ma's Sofa" because it reminded me of a big blowsy floral print my Ma had on her sofa a long time ago.
It was very popular and amid the many many floral fabrics we carry, it was one we all could find right away when it was ordered.

Ahem. The link to Carol's Etsy shop is RIGHT THERE on the page.
It tells you everything you need to know, just by clicking!

The hanks are approximately 4 ounces/400 yards. Link is in the sidebar to the right....

If you are coming from a feed site (such as Bloglines or NewsGator) most links in the sidebar do not appear. You will need to click on the blog title in order to get all of the sidebar information. This is true for many blogs, but not all of them.

Bollocks, if you'll pardon the expression. That sock yarn is amazing but the ones I want are all gone. Slap forehead for not checking in here sooner. Probably just as well you don't do custom orders!

Sadly, when I saw the name for the yarn, I knew *exactly* what you referred to (especially when you added the "don't ask" part).

My folks had a fugly sofa when I was growing up, much like the one you show here, but ours was more "country", if that's possible.

Some of the best colours on the web, IMO.
